Pretty in Plaid | OOTD

So when this whole plaid skirt trend came out recently, let me tell you .. I was not having it at all. I actually thought it was the most stupidest thing since elastic waist pants (I used to call them mom pants). I think the reason I hated plaid skirts so much was because I went to a Catholic High School where it was required to wear a uniform, which consisted of a plaid kilt. Words cannot describe how much I hated this kilt, it was a mixture of forest green, navy and mustard yellow .. yeah I know right. So its safe to say that I was never willing to wear plaid bottoms in my life ever again. Which is why when I started seeing these everywhere it was like a nightmare I could not wake up from. Yet somehow, like my hatred for elastic waist pants, I was somehow magically cured. It was when I was at the Brandy Melville Warehouse Sale where I came across these two gems, this red skirt here and a white and black one. I honestly have no idea what came over me, I picked them both up and was like "Oh hey, these are cute I want to try these on." So I tried them on and I loved them, and they were also only $5 each, and that is how it happened.

Since the weather over here is finally warming up (7 months later), I decided to wear one to school! I felt like rocking the red one, I paired it with a black cop top also from Brandy, and a black sweater from Forever 21. To finish off the look, and to make it extra High-School-ish, I threw my hair up in a high pony and I wore a thick red headband (which gave me a huge headache all day, but hey fashion know's not of comfort right?) I paired it with a bunch of gold and black jewellery and that's that! It was definitely a fun change, a total blast from the past and something that I am not used to at all, but hey this year its all about taking some fashion risks! Hope you all had a fab weekend!

Shady Lady | Favourite Spring Sunnies

Why hello there! I have been a little absent this past week, as things have just been crazy with school and work! It is so hard to believe that I only have less then two weeks of school left, which you think I would be more excited about but that just means I need to start a big girl job which is all so scary and exciting at the same. I have still yet to find an internship for the summer, I think I have an interview this week though for a styling position with a magazine which would be absolutely amazing if I got because that's something that I can just totally see myself doing! So fingers crossed!

Just wanted to do a quick post about this spring and summers trends with sunnies! I am absolutely in love with this trend of supper colourful, big, bright, and unique shaped styles. It is definitely a playoff of the 60's sunnies trends, I just love when style makes a comeback! I made a little compilation of my favourite styles, I love the ones that have the details attached to them, like the watermelon and the flower ones! The rounded ones with a thick colourful plastic around it I think are just so much fun and seriously such a perfect accessory. For a while I have only ever owned about 2-3 pairs of sunglasses at a time using them more as a necessity and less as an accessory but this spring I feel like you need a different pair of sunnies for every outfit! You can find these everywhere at the moment for every budget; forever 21 and H&M has some cute cheap ones, Nasty Gal and ASOS for those mid price points and those black floral ones are from Bloomingdales for almost $700! I just feel as though it is a perfect way to add a little bit more colour to your look, as we all know I am deff more of a neutral girl wearing mostly black all the time (hey I have been working on it OK?) And I love adding little bits of colour here and there, whether it's my necklaces or bracelets, my lips or nails that day, purses and clutches and now with some sunnies. And hey it's so much quicker to put on a pair then to do your eye make up! So if your running out the house to just run a couple errands or just going to the beach, skip on the eye shadow and liner and just throw on a pair of some supper chic and colourful sunnies.

Which one is your favourite?

As fun as it was putting this together, it also made me extremely depressed about the fact that I won't be able to wear anything like this for another 3 months or so ... so close yet so far away. Anyways, I love the look of mix and matching pastels for the summer, here are two supper cute looks that I put together. How adorable are these shorts though? They are from esty and I will deff be getting myself a pair!

Hope you lovelies have a great weekend!

Festival Fashion | Nasty Gal Festival Collection

Festival Fashion is in the air, and no matter what kind of music your into, there is a festival just for you! Whether your going to Coachella, Bonnaroo, Warped Tour, Tomorrow World, or Veld, you gotta look the part! Lucky for us Nasty Gal has got us Covered.

Nasty Gal has come out with a new Festival Collection, which is absolute perfection! Everything from pastel high wasted shorts, printed crop tops, kimonos, fringe everything, and some serious Lana Del Rey worthy Flower crowns. Nasty Gal really outdid themselves, forget just festivals this can basically be my whole summer wardrobe!

I feel as though summer festivals have made such an impact on just overall summer fashion. We all know fashion has so many stages, 80's chic, grunge, New York prep; and festival wear is just among the next big fad for the summer! In almost all the stores at the moment you see festival inspired gear!

What do you actually classify as festival fashion? Just looking over all the trends for this summer I like to think of it as boho chic, with hippy inspirations, and edgy elements! Bright colours are a must, light flowy materials(you know to make standing outside in the scorching heat surrounded by all those sweaty people a little more bearable?), Patterns and prints, by themselves or even mixing them with each other.. I know weird right? But it works. And most importantly accessories are the frosting on the cake.. it just isn't right without some.

Some popular ones on Nasty Gal are the rounded sunglasses that have a thick pattern around them! Fringe purses and backpacks, I'm in love with the watermelon clutch, oh my goodness too cute! Hippy headbands and flower crowns of course, and feathered earrings! I feel like with festival fashion you deff got to go hard or go home when it comes to the trimmings.

Hey and depending on what festival you're going to, you could be coming in contact with some body paint which is always fun and games until you get it all over your $150 white dress, so I urge you to be just a little careful, unless people are throwing around dry paint, which then you are screwed my friend, so just do a little research before you pick out your outfit!

Overall I'm in love with this collection from Nasty Gal, go to their website to check out their stunning look book and to shop your little hearts out. I definitely want to try and hit up a couple this summer, just gotta plan what ones! But I can for sure tell you that my outfits will not disappoint! Will you be going to any festivals this summer? Or just jumping on the festival fashion bandwagon?

O. M.G. So I have found my perfect clothing brand; Sabo Skirt! Like I seriously want to own everything from this website... I have heard of it before and seen some pieces here and there but I've never really taken the time to fully go through their site, my friend mentioned that she wants to put in an order soon so if I want anything we could do it together to save on shipping. So I went through the site and like...seriously...I want everything.

It's an online Australian based company, and they have proven to be very successful through all social media outlets. I honestly just love the style, all the bright colours, the prints, the shapes, the geometrics, and textures. The prices are about mid range, but I feel like it's totally worth it. The quality and fabrics they use are just fab! Going through their site I could just picture my self wearing everything, can I just please magically have my closet full of Sabo?! (Oh how a girl can dream...)

I love the Australian essence of the brand that is definitely transparent throughout all their pieces. I highly recommend checking out there site as well as their blog, instagram, Facebook, and pintrest, for not only their amazing clothes but for some creative styling ideas. The brand is just so inpiring and gives me great ideas on experimenting with colours and prints! So go check them out while I sit here narrowing down my absolute favourites, which will probably take me all night!
