A Never Ending Battle | Jewellery Organization

I feel like a never ending conflict I have had in my life for the past couple years have been how to organize my jewellery. As my collection began to grow my frustration did as well. I had tried so many different ways of organizing everything and I think after all these years I have finally figured it out! There was one point where I covered a huge cork board in tumblr-esque photos and hung all my necklaces on pins on the board. It looked really cool, but I guess some of my necklaces were a little to heavy because in the middle of the night a bunch would fall off because the pins wouldn't be able to support them and neither could my nerves because holy moly it would scare me to death! And then there was one point where I totally just took the top drawer of my dresser and used the whole thing to store it all! Let me tell you, that there is dedication, because most girls are not willing to give up a whole drawer, and well it's safe to say that neither did I because that did not last long at all. Girl has gotta have her drawers for all her clothes! Ever since I moved a couple months ago all my jewellery has just been thrown into boxes and the stuff I wear all the time were just laying messily on my shelves. This was driving me crazy, and it didn't allow me to easily access everything so I was constantly just wearing the same stuff! So I spent the whole day on Friday getting creative and doing some serious damage to my collection (in a good way).

First off, there was a lot of this going on. I can't even tell you how long it took me to just untangle some of these serious clusters. I am pretty sure I gave up half way through of trying to fix this one, in my head I was like "If you have been left alone for this long to make this big of a knot, you are clearly not that important to me and I can afford to loose you." So I really did get rid of a lot of junky stuff thats just so outdated and I just don't see myself ever wearing. So if you have a lot of old jewellery you don't wear anymore just chuck it, or save it somewhere else to use for crafts or projects!

For my bracelets I stole one of these bad boys from my parents spa, since they sell a lot of jewellery there! You can find these anywhere online for supper cheap as well. I put some of the stuff I wear the most on it, as it is easily accessible and visually appealing. Score! I love the way it looks on my shelf, and I really want to get another one.

For my necklaces I found this contraption in my basement, it is actually meant for stacking your cd's on, and well who uses those anymore? So the second I saw it, I knew it would be perfect for hanging my necklaces on. They are again, easy to get to, and looks totally cute in the corner of my room, and I just put a candle onto of it to finish it off (obviously won't be lighting it).

Now for the rest of my stuff I use these adorable boxes to put them in. I found these boxes at Home Sense, the bigger one I use for all my headbands and bandanas and the smaller one above it I use for bracelets and necklaces that were too awkward to hang or store on my other things. These just go under my nightstand table, it looks so cute and easy to get to. The pink heart box was actually the box that came with a Paris Hilton perfume I got probably when I was in grade 9! That sits on my shelve as well and I put all my rings and earrings in there. And that is about it! I love the way its organized, everything is so neat (for now), and just being able to use it as decoration is a total bonus. I love finding unique ways of using something for something other then what it was meant for! I would love to know some unique ways you use for organizing your jewellery!

She Wore Blue Velvet | Interview Outfit

Pop the champagne because I am officially done school! Undergrad in Fashion Management done and after the longest year of my life, post grad in International Fashion Development and Management is finite! And I cannot be more thrilled about it and to finally start my career in the fashion industry. It really was a long year and especially since in the summer I moved further up north away from the city I had to get up at 4:30 to make those godawful 8am classes (who invented those in the first place?) Well how did I survive you ask? Well friend let me tell you, never have I been so thankful for caffein and concealer. Turning off my alarm clock yesterday was seriously one of the greatest feelings in the world! I have a had a nice couple days off, got to spend time with some friends and family, and for the first time all year got to sit outside on my porch and read, and today reorganized my closet which was something I've wanted to do for months now! Does anyone else life just feels a lot more in order after they clean their closet? I also just recently came into a lot of colourful shoes... like 7, so I needed to make room for those bad boys.

Well even though classes are over, I'm not quit finished! Like I have mentioned before I need to get an internship in order to fully graduate. I have been on a couple of interviews but I can honestly say that I am being a little picky. I've done internships before and worked in the industry and I really just want something that is different then what I've done and one that I think I will really benefit from! So I have an interview tomorrow at an agency that represents some of the top fashion photographers in Toronto, meaning ill be helping out at some of the biggest shoots! I think this could be such an amazing opportunity, so fingers crossed and wish me luck! This is similar to what I will be wearing tomorrow, sticking to black, as per usual but adding pops of blue through my shoes, scarf and nails! I'll let you know how it goes!

Till next time,

Pretty in Plaid | OOTD

So when this whole plaid skirt trend came out recently, let me tell you .. I was not having it at all. I actually thought it was the most stupidest thing since elastic waist pants (I used to call them mom pants). I think the reason I hated plaid skirts so much was because I went to a Catholic High School where it was required to wear a uniform, which consisted of a plaid kilt. Words cannot describe how much I hated this kilt, it was a mixture of forest green, navy and mustard yellow .. yeah I know right. So its safe to say that I was never willing to wear plaid bottoms in my life ever again. Which is why when I started seeing these everywhere it was like a nightmare I could not wake up from. Yet somehow, like my hatred for elastic waist pants, I was somehow magically cured. It was when I was at the Brandy Melville Warehouse Sale where I came across these two gems, this red skirt here and a white and black one. I honestly have no idea what came over me, I picked them both up and was like "Oh hey, these are cute I want to try these on." So I tried them on and I loved them, and they were also only $5 each, and that is how it happened.

Since the weather over here is finally warming up (7 months later), I decided to wear one to school! I felt like rocking the red one, I paired it with a black cop top also from Brandy, and a black sweater from Forever 21. To finish off the look, and to make it extra High-School-ish, I threw my hair up in a high pony and I wore a thick red headband (which gave me a huge headache all day, but hey fashion know's not of comfort right?) I paired it with a bunch of gold and black jewellery and that's that! It was definitely a fun change, a total blast from the past and something that I am not used to at all, but hey this year its all about taking some fashion risks! Hope you all had a fab weekend!

As fun as it was putting this together, it also made me extremely depressed about the fact that I won't be able to wear anything like this for another 3 months or so ... so close yet so far away. Anyways, I love the look of mix and matching pastels for the summer, here are two supper cute looks that I put together. How adorable are these shorts though? They are from esty and I will deff be getting myself a pair!

Hope you lovelies have a great weekend!
